Terms of use

These terms apply to honeybearkatherine.com, operated by Katherine L. Carter ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use it.

Using the site

You may read, share and link to anything here. We encourage it. In return, please do not:

• Republish articles in full elsewhere without permission. A quotation with a link back is welcome.
• Present our writing as your own, or use it to train a commercial model without asking.
• Attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, or access anything not intended to be public.
• Use the site to harass anybody, or to break the law.
• Scrape it in a way that degrades it for other people.

If you would like to reproduce something — for a class, a support group, a newsletter — ask us. The answer is usually yes.

Who owns what

Articles, episode descriptions, page copy, the HBK777 mark and the site design belong to Katherine L. Carter or are used with permission. Episodes are published on YouTube and remain subject to YouTube's terms.

Quoting a passage with attribution and a link is fair and welcome. Reproducing an entire article is not.

Anything you send us

If you send a question, a story or a suggestion — by email, through the contact form, or in a live show — you keep ownership of it. You give us permission to read it, reply to it, and where it is relevant, to discuss the substance of it on air or in writing.

We will not identify you without your clear permission. Stories shared publicly are described in general terms with identifying details removed. If you would prefer we do not mention your situation at all, say so and we will not.

Live shows and community spaces

The show is broadcast in Meta Horizon Worlds and Clubroom, which are run by their own companies under their own rules. We do not control those platforms and cannot resolve problems that happen on them — use their reporting and blocking tools, which are linked from the resources page.

In our rooms, the expectation is simple: people are here about difficult personal subjects, so treat them decently. Harassment, abuse and recording people without consent will get you removed.

No warranty

The site is provided as is. We do not guarantee that it will always be available, that it will be free of errors, or that anything on it fits your particular circumstances. We may change, move or remove content at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Katherine L. Carter is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss arising out of your use of this site or reliance on anything published here — including decisions you make about a relationship.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Please read the disclaimer as well. It sets out clearly that this site is not therapy, not medical or legal advice, and not a crisis service.

Other people's sites

We link to organisations, platforms and shops. Those links are for convenience and are not an endorsement of everything on the far side of them. We do not control that content and are not responsible for it. Some links earn a commission, and which ones is set out in the disclaimer.

Copyright complaints

If you believe something here infringes your copyright, email hbkgrandpavilion@gmail.com with: what the work is, where it appears on this site, your contact details, a statement that you believe the use is unauthorised, and a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.

We take these seriously and will remove genuinely infringing material promptly.

Open-source components

This site is built with open-source software and is glad to say so. It runs on Astro, searches with Pagefind, plays video through lite-youtube-embed, and sets type in Bodoni Moda and Outfit, both under the SIL Open Font License. Each is free to use, and none of them tracks anybody.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised version.
